GLOBAL EXPERIENCE IN DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION OF THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR TO ENSURE FOOD SECURITY

Abstract (English):
The article notes that ensuring the country's food security is a priority for state economic policy and a crucial factor in the nation's economic security. Global experience in digital transformations in food security includes the use of artificial intelligence for crop yield forecasting and automation, blockchain for increasing supply chain transparency, and cloud technologies for data management. These technologies, according to the authors, are used to improve the production, distribution, and availability of food, thereby facilitating physical and economic accessibility, as well as improving the quality and safety of food products. Recently, the influence of external factors on food security in individual countries, including Russia, has increased, a consequence of the ongoing globalization of the economy and the growing importance of food as a key factor in the political and socioeconomic stability of any state. The modern food security system faces multilayered challenges, creating a complex system of risks requiring strategic management. The authors' analysis revealed that the foreign policy environment is creating fundamentally new operating conditions for the agricultural sector, where sanctions pressure has become a permanent influence. Technological limitations are combined with financial barriers, such as blocked payment systems and complicated supply chains. At the same time, global markets are demonstrating unprecedented price volatility for critical resources—from mineral fertilizers to feed additives—increasing external price shocks for domestic producers. This underscores the need for a systematic approach to identifying key areas for food security as a prerequisite for improving the quality of life for the population of any country.
