Nature-like technologies are not only the technology of cultivation of agricultural crops, but also include a melioration system with the conditions of its operation. One of the main structural elements of any melioration system is tubular structures. In this regard, the article considers the issue of increasing the efficiency of the water-carrying capacity of tubular structures, the solution of which will improve the operational characteristics of water management facilities. Correct accounting of losses in the boundary layer will increase the accuracy of determining the required pressure, adjust the required pumping equipment, which in turn will reduce energy costs, and therefore the cost of manufactured agricultural products. Therefore, the article analyzes existing methods for calculating the capacity of tubular structures. A number of works have studied the influence of the shapes and sizes of the inlet head, the length and diameter of the pipes on the value of the flow coefficient. We turned to the theory of the boundary layer. In real liquids, they always stick to the walls of the pipe, which significantly changes the pattern of the flow lines. This occurs due to the braking of a thin layer of liquid adjacent to the walls due to friction, called a boundary layer or friction layer. Based on the results of the studies, it is possible to clarify the thickness of the boundary layer, as well as the distribution of velocities in it, which will improve the efficiency of not only tubular structures, but also the operation of melioration systems as a whole. Improving the operational characteristics of water management systems will improve their reliability and increase their service life, including increasing the repair cycle.
