The article presents the results of research on transport infrastructure planning for the spatial development of the Saratov agglomeration. The role of the transport cluster in the spatial development of regional agglomerations is described and references are given to the research of modern scientists in this area. Data on the development of the Saratov agglomeration through the integration of rural areas into the urban district are presented. The structure of the urban agglomeration and its types are shown. An analysis of the planned transport infrastructure of the Saratov agglomeration was carried out in accordance with the program for the integrated development of the transport infrastructure of the urban agglomeration “Saratov agglomeration”. The types of infrastructure projects are given: construction of roads, railway transport, railway and road bridges across the Volga to connect Saratov and Engels, reconstruction of the road network, participation in the federal project for the construction of the South-Western Expressway highway, development of electric transport, improvement of the airport » Gagarin», organization of a water transport route along the Volga River. The main urban planning documents for the implementation of transport infrastructure projects in the Saratov agglomeration are outlined: territorial planning schemes for the Saratov region, the master plan of the municipal formation «City of Saratov», planning projects and territory surveying projects. The problems associated with the seizure of land plots for state and municipal needs during the construction and reconstruction of transport infrastructure facilities in the Saratov agglomeration are described. It was concluded that planning transport infrastructure within the framework of the implementation of the Spatial Development Strategy of the Saratov agglomeration will certainly improve the situation of transport accessibility, but to achieve 30-minute accessibility from the periphery of the city to the center and from rural settlements to the center, as stated in the draft Spatial Development Strategy , it will not work without the introduction of underground transport (metro) and air transport (small aviation).
