The article presents an analysis of the results of land reform in Russia, implemented since 1990. The main stages of transformations are examined, ranging from the introduction of private land ownership to modern mechanisms for regulating land relations. Key challenges in the reform’s implementation are identified, including the reduction of agricultural land, particularly croplands and arable fields; the persistence of unclaimed land shares over extended periods; the growth of unused arable plots due to various factors; soil degradation; and the concentration of land in the hands of large agro-holdings. An evaluation of regulatory documents, theoretical materials, and statistical data is conducted. Recommendations for improving land policy are proposed, such as strengthening the role of land management and introducing digital technologies for land resource accounting.
